FIELD
After visiting the campus of Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, Kim felt very compelled by God to transfer as a sophomore and begin her studies in Music Education in 2006. Despite the feeling of being led there by God, by the time her senior year approached, she questioned her decision to study music and her presence at the university.
In the Spring of 2009, Campus Ambassador’s staff member Craig Hammond asked, “What, in your life, needs change?”
“My life path,” thought Kim.
Feeling directionless, Kim prayed for a glimmer of light so she would know what path to take after graduation. Little did she realize that hearing the announcement introducing a new Campus Ambassadors intern made three weeks before her graduation would bring far more than a glimmer of light to the path.
Having spent three years getting to know the students of Willamette, their experiences, and the campus environment, Kim feels God has been preparing her for this since she was much younger. She is excited to join the young women of Campus Ambassadors, reaching out to Willamette students with the love of Christ.
FAITH
Kim was raised in a Christian home, attending church three times a week as well as being involved in her youth group. She was encouraged by members of the church to challenge everything she had been taught and to understand it for herself. When most of Kim’s high school friends were challenging organized religion, Kim found herself lost and unsure what to believe. She eventually realized God was the only one who would truly be there for her and she acknowledged her belief in God.
In 2005, after her senior year of high school, she participated in a mission that challenged her to examine her faith closely. She started studying the Bible more deeply than she had before and found herself understanding and defining her faith more each day.
FAMILY
Kim was born and raised in a Christian home in Montana.
