FIELD
Both Donna and Corky have been involved in their local churches in many capacities, at Evangelical Free Church and now the First Baptist Church of Los Altos. After retiring from the telecommunications industry in 2004, Corky participated in a short-term mission trip to Cambodia, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Los Altos.
He shortly came to believe that this was exactly where the Lord wanted him. Corky and Donna had prayed, seeking a place to serve. The Lord answered that prayer by enabling Corky to co-lead teams to Cambodia that are an answer to sometimes years of prayer for help with a church building by Christian congregations.
Donna works with the Cupertino Union School District as a Technology Resource Teacher, and Corky, when not in Cambodia, works part time as a technical support person in the District’s IS/IT department.
Donna serves on the FBCLA Deaconess Board, and as the Secretary of the Cupertino Veterans Memorial. This is an effort to build a beautiful memorial for the city of Cupertino to specially honor those from that area who gave their lives in combat. This memorial is scheduled to be dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 2007.
Corky is deeply honored to be able to serve through Partnership Ministries, along with Cambodian Ministries for Christ (CMC), to help support the local Cambodian Christian churches in their efforts to both teach about and demonstrate the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.
FAITH
Corky grew up in a Christian home and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ when he was about 9 years old. His family attended the First Covenant Church of San Francisco, and his family – mother, two brothers and three sisters – used to spend the entire summer holiday at Mission Springs Christian Conference Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains. These were very special times of growing in the faith.
Donna grew up in a Christian home and accepted the Lord as a young child.
FAMILY
Corky and Donna met in high school and were married in June of 1965. After moving to the South Bay Area they were blessed with two wonderful children: Jeffrey and Matthew.
