FIELD
Desiring to share their newfound faith with others, Tom and Cindy became youth leaders at West Side Baptist Church in Rochester, New York, when they were in their thirties. They worked for about ten years with youth ministry and then college students, befriending and discipling them.
As Tom related to church youth, he saw an overwhelming need. As he listened to their questions, he considered what struggles "unchurched" youth must have.
In 2003, The Capuanos joined in launching a new ministry to a much larger harvest field: the State University of New York at Brockport. Rather than ministering to a captive audience of Christian kids, they began an evangelistic ministry to reach out to the thousands of students on this campus.
Tom is currently an Area Director for Campus Ambassadors and oversees new ministries at Monroe Community College and the University of Buffalo. Cindy works alongside her husband in reaching these young adults for Christ.
FAITH
Before coming to know the Lord, Cindy was a recreation director in a nursing home and Tom worked different jobs in banking and real estate. Then in the late 80s, God brought them to their knees as their lives were spinning out of control with their finances. They submitted to God through a Bible study and began their relationship with Christ in their early 30s.
FAMILY
Tom and Cindy were married in 1978 and have four children: Tom, Brandon, Jonathan and Carlie. As their four children are reaching adulthood, they consider it pure joy to see them each serving God with the gifts and talents that they have been uniquely blessed with. Because of an early relationship with Christ, their children have made better decisions in their lives.
Their family continues to grow through wonderful Christian spouses - and is being blessed with grandchildren!
