FIELD
Ethan Cook attended two different Christian universities before coming to Brockport State College. He felt that God was asking him to minister at a public state college, where Christians were not the majority. Arriving there, Ethan found Campus Ambassadors ministry and immediately got involved. He was appointed with Missions Door in February, 2006.
All through high school Laura was involved in the Youth for Christ ministry based out of Oneonta. Once she graduated she attended a community college in Western, NY. The friends she made weren't Christians and didn't encourage her spiritually at all. So she found herself further away from God than she had ever been.
After graduating and moving on to SUNY Brockport, she quickly got involved in Campus Ambassadors and this helped her walk with God dramatically. Now she has graduated from Brockport but is still in the area as a volunteer. Laura was appointed by Missions Door in February of 2006.
After graduating from the school in December of 2006, Ethan worked full time as a programmer/analyst at SUNY-Brockport Library, enabling him to continue with Campus Ambassadors, speaking at weekly meetings, mentoring students and leading Bible studies.
Ethan has a big heart for the students on campus and has been involved in many different organizations and teams, both Christian and non-Christian. He’s taken all that he has learned and experienced from these other groups and brought them to the ministry of Campus Ambassadors. He also draws from his own personal experiences in helping others in their daily lives and struggles. His main goal is to help build up young Christians to have a solid foundation in Jesus Christ.
In the fall of 2007 he took a class at North Eastern Seminary, and became the acting director for Campus Ambassadors at Brockport when his supervisor underwent health problems. This responsibility caused him to grow and shape his leadership and organization skills. God has called this newly married couple into full-time ministry at the University of Minnesota to organize a new ministry there and reach young adults for Christ.
FAITH
Ethan accepted Jesus at the age of 7 and reconfirmed that commitment at 10 years of age. Since then he has been highly involved in evangelical mission teams in both high school and college.
Laura accepted Jesus into her life at the age of 7 at Vacation Bible School.
