“God has used my college experience to change me more than in any other period of my life. I’m a radically different person from what I was at the beginning of my freshman year.
"God has put it on my heart to see that other college students have the chance I had to discover what the Lord wants for them. Many college students these days have never even set foot in a church, let alone know what Christ did for them and how He loves them.”
Tim wants to meet with students one on one to help them develop a relationship with Jesus. For this reason, the Stewarts have moved to Buffalo to engage college students with the exciting realities of following Jesus.
FAITH
Tim grew up going to church every Sunday but never really enjoying it. He did, however, enjoy youth ministry and got involved with a local program run by Youth for Christ. It was on a week-long bike trip sponsored by YFC that Tim was finally able to understand what Christ did for him, and he accepted Jesus as his Savior.
After that, Tim began to enjoy church and grew in his walk with Christ throughout high school. Upon entering college at Oneonta State, he connected with Campus Ambassadors immediately and got involved in sharing his faith with others.
Tim took a job as a police dispatcher to cover his everyday expenses. This, however, kept him from being able to meet with students on weekends (when they were free) and from being able to attend church on Sundays. Tim felt the Lord leading him to leave his job and become an intern with CA.
He started his CA internship at the beginning of his junior year of college and has since been appointed a full-time campus minister, planting a new Campus ministry at University of Buffalo.
FAMILY
Campus Ambassadors is also where Tim’s friendship with Karen Deemer, his campus minister’s daughter, grew. Toward the end of college, Tim proposed to Karen and they were married in July 2004 and have two sons: Joshua and Mitchell.
