FIELD
Tim spent six years in ministry with the Baptist Student Union at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. While there, Tim and Rachael helped lead the ministry though a transition from a small inward-focused ministry to a growing evangelistic ministry that had significant impact on the campus community. Missions Door appointed Tim to campus ministry in May 2002, as part of a ministry partnership between Missions Door and Truman Baptist Student Union. With friends from Truman, Tim and Rachael founded Damascus Road Tucson, a campus-focused community of faith in Tucson, Arizona.
After serving for 5 years in Tucson, Tim and Rachael started a new campus-focused community of faith in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois. The first campus Damascus Road Quad Cities is focusing on is Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, with plans to expand to the other Quad Cities universities in the following years.
Universities are the training ground for the future leaders of our world. This presents a great opportunity to bring Christ into a culture that will transform the world. Tim and Rachael actively teach and share God’s love with all members of the campus community.
FAITH
Tim grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age. His faith became real to him during college where he developed gifts in leadership, teaching and administration while serving in campus ministry. He enjoys creating new things, drinking hot chocolate and engaging in conversations about culture, faith and friendship.
Rachael was also raised in a Christian home. She embraces an honest relationship with Christ in the tradition of Israel’s King David, not fearing to question what others accept. She enjoys crafting moments for others to realize God through art, word and culture and has a special heart for mentoring young women.
FAMILY
Tim and Rachael met while serving at the BSU and were married in August of 2003. They continue to serve together in ministry, looking for opportunities to share God’s love, not only at Augustana, but also at St. Ambrose University where Rachael works as an Assistant Professor.
Their daughter Aurora was stillborn in July of 2008, their son Eli was born in April of 2010 and their son Ian is expected in March of 2012.
